Presentation at SGCWinning GAID DesignPhoto Reunion

Dear Friends of Tyler,

This spring we welcomed guests from three national conferences into our new studios, we learned that more than 75 of our Graphic and Interactive Design students received national awards, and we received word that our Art History Department was recognized by Academic Analytics as #2 out of 62 art history doctoral programs in the U.S!

SPE, NCECA, SGC! Photographers, ceramic artists and printmakers all gathered in Philadelphia for their annual national conferences, and Tyler supported them with exhibitions, panel discussions, reunions, and technical demonstrations. It was a great opportunity to welcome artists from across the country to our new building and for them to see our studios in action. Graduate students opened their studios, and alumni and friends reconnected at the many events. Printeresting, a web site covering the SGC conference, ran a feature on the events at Tyler titled "Q: How Awesome is Tyler's new Print Facility? A: Very Awesome" We couldn't agree more!

Top of The Charts! Academic Analytics specializes in objectively measuring faculty productivity based their book and journal publications, journal article citations, federally funded research grants, and honorific awards. The latest rankings, for 2007-08, have just been announced and Tyler's art history program was ranked #2 nationally. We are so proud of our distinguished Art History Department. This national ranking is the highest of any PhD program at Temple!

Winning Design! Also this summer look for the upcoming issue of CMYK Magazine (#47) "Top New Creative Issue." Tyler is the most represented school in the Design category, with 10 winners. This accomplishment tops off a year of accolades for our design students.

Have a great summer!

Sincerely,
Hester Stinnett
Vice Dean
