CLA Alumni: Experience the Philadelphia Masonic Temple

Enjoy tea and light fare in the grand foyer followed by a lecture by Seth Bruggeman, assistant professor of history and American studies at CLA, and a guided tour of the Masonic Temple. The tour will take approximately 45 minutes and will require walking throughout the building. Elevators are available for accessibility between floors.

About the Masonic Temple
The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia, located at 1 North Broad Street, was constructed in 1873 and is the headquarters of the Grand Lodge for Pennsylvania, Free and Accepted Masons. This ornate structure is a National Historic Landmark and has been called one of Philadelphia’s great architectural wonders. A stunning example of Norman architecture, the temple remains a remarkable piece of the city's public history.

About the Lecturer
Seth Bruggeman will discuss the meaning of public history and will share some other examples of forward-thinking projects taking place in Philadelphia. He will also discuss how Temple students are leading in the field.

Tickets
Limit of two tickets per registrant. Tickets for this event are $20 per person and include the reception, lecture and tour.
