From the Alumni President...

It’s been a busy winter for your CLA Alumni Association. The board has been hard at work preparing a host of springtime events designed to reconnect you with the College of Liberal Arts and each other. Be sure to read on for more information about Alumni Weekend and a CLA night at Citizens Bank Park for our Phillies fans.

In addition to planning events and rooting on our Temple Owls in the A-10 Tournament, we also participated in the Owl Internship Challenge this winter. In collaboration with Temple’s Career Center, we identified exciting new internships available to CLA students. As you know, liberal arts students are resourceful, hard-working critical thinkers, and real-world job experience is vital to their future success. Is there an internship available at your office? If so, send me an e-mail at jerry.vigna@alvernia.edu.

Be sure to stop by the CLA alumni table at the International Street Fair on Saturday, April 16 during Alumni Weekend. I always enjoy meeting our alumni!

Go Owls!

Alumni Weekend 2011
See you at Alumni Weekend 2011!
Temple Alumni Weekend -- bigger and bolder than ever before -- is a party big enough for 270,000 Temple graduates!

April 15, 16 and 17, Alumni Weekend will feature more than 30 exciting events for alumni of all ages, their families, Owl sports fans, students, staff, faculty and friends.

A weekend pass includes special access to Philadelphia landmarks including the National Museum of American Jewish History and Mark Vetri’s Osteria as well as tickets to a concert by Temple's own Daryl Hall. Want to keep the party going? Entrance to a late-night young alumni party at the Piazza at Schmidts in Northern Liberties is also included.

If you missed last year’s tour of Eastern State Penitentiary, you’ll want to sign up for one of the Templedelphia tours of the historic prison, and hear from criminal justice faculty member and criminology expert Kay Harris. It's all included in the Weekend Pass.
