Boyer College of Music and Dance

Percussion Alumni,
Phillip O'Banion
November will be a great month for percussion!

The Percussive Arts Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary during their International Convention in Indianapolis, November 9-12. If you are attending, stop by our booth (#1204) to visit me and my Boyer colleagues Alan Abel, Christopher Deviney and Steve Fidyk. Mr. Abel and the Symphonic Emeritus Percussion Section will perform on Friday afternoon, and Mr. Fidyk and the U.S. Army Blues Band during the Friday night showcase.

Join us at the Temple Performing Arts Center on Main Campus for a performance by Temple University Percussion Ensemble on Tuesday, November 22, 7:30 PM. This program will feature Varese's Ionisation, the Philadelphia premiere of John Mackey's Mass, and works by Westlake, Ewazen and Levitan.

I am encouraged each day by the curiosity, imagination and work ethic of our Boyer percussion students. Thank you for your continued interest in our program.

Stay connected to the Boyer College and Temple University by visiting myowlspace.com to update your information and to let us know your latest achievements.

There are many more exciting things 'in the works' with regard to percussion studies at Temple - so stay tuned!

Sincerely,
Phillip O'Banion
