Sourcing Secrets from an Industry Insider

Shally-Steckerl-photoTalent sourcing is a hot topic in human resources circles, and the Fox School’s HRM Department was delighted to host Shally Steckerl, one of the nation’s leading experts in talent sourcing, when he presented to area HR professionals and students.

Steckerl has trained hundreds of HR teams at companies, such as General Electric, Google, Lockheed Martin, Cisco and Motorola. He is based in Atlanta and heads his own consulting company.

Steckerl conducted a two-day, hands-on workshop for area HR professionals March 15-16. He described how to manage the recruiting desk; how to use search engines, Boolean searches, advanced LinkedIn and social networking; how to cold call; how to conduct searches legally and ethically; and much more. By attending, HR professionals earned eight HRCI recertification hours.

Dr. Deanna Geddes, Chair of the HRM Department at Fox says, “Each year, we’ll be sponsoring several of these training/recertification events for area HR professionals and Fox students earning a Masters in HR or a HRM Graduate Certificate.”
