Between Homecoming and all of the other exciting events going on, October is shaping up to be a busy month for all of us.

In addition to these exciting events, our first ever "Thank A Donor Week" will be piloted on Ambler's campus October 8-11. As many of you heard in last month's fundraising training workshop, Thank A Donor Week is an initiative to engage students in philanthropy and gather handwritten thank you notes to send to our donors. We'll be bringing it to Main Campus in the Spring. More details will follow.

Also, the holidays are fast approaching and serve as a great time to steward your donors. To assist you in this effort, a student-designed holiday card will be available for your use to send to your donors. Keep an eye on your e-mail for a copy of the design.

Happy Stewarding!

Donor Touch Tips

Thank you to everyone who participated in the "Stewardship and Alumni Relations in Donor Relationships" session. Here are some of the great stewardship ideas that came out of the session from all of you:
  • Invite a donor who enjoys good wine to sit in on the "The Chemistry of Wine" class
  • Arrange for Hooter the Owl to meet the grandkids of donor who attends all of the Temple basketball games
  • Invite an alumni donor who funds a scholarship for a student involved in the LGBT community to serve on the board of the newly formed TUAA LGBT group
  • Send a donor with an interest in African American literature a recently published book by an African American Studies professor
  • Send a donor with an interest in local, organic food a basket of produce from the Temple Community Garden for their birthday
