Alumni Dance Showcase

Choreographer Ananya Chatterjea, recently named "Favorite Minnesota Role Model for Women in the Arts" by the Minnesota Women's Press, and her company, Ananya Dance Theatre, announce the United States premiere of Moreechika: Season of Mirage.

The work received its world premiere in July at the "New Waves! 2012" festival in Port of Spain, Trinidad, presented by the New Waves!Commission Project for the International Choreographers Commission Program (ICCP).

It will then be performed in September at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis and will travel to Temple University in Philadelphia to be performed at Conwell Dance Theater.Mirage Performance

The theme of Moreechika, an evening-length piece, is oil and the environmental, cultural and human costs of oil extraction around the world, particularly on women in global communities of color.

$20 general admission
$15 non-Temple students and senior citizens

The event is FREE and open to the public.

Both alumni and non-alumni will be showing and selling their work throughout the 255,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility designed by world-renowned architect Carlos Jimenez.
From ceramicists to glass blowers to jewelers to photographers --- over 30 artists will be selling their work in a range of prices.

Sponsored by the Tyler School of Art Alumni Association, a portion of the proceeds from the Art Market will benefit student scholarships at the Tyler School of Art.
