Save the Date for the 150th Anniversary Celebration It's not too late to RSVP for the 150th Birthday Celebration of Dr. Ichinoi, Class of 1981 This year would mark the 150th birthday of Dr. Masatsune Ichinoi, a pioneer of western dentistry in Japan. Dr. Ichinoi graduated from the Philadelphia Dental College (later, the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University) in 1891. Ichinoi served as dentist to three Japanese Emperors and was the first Japanese dentist to open an office in Philadelphia as well as the first Japanese professor of dentistry at the Philadelphia Dental College. Come see a special exhibit about his extraordinary life and the history of dentistry at a time when Japan was just opening up to the outside world. |
