For the past 29 years, TUSPM faculty member Howard Palamarchuk, D.P.M. has taken a group of students to the Boston Marathon to provide services to runners with blisters, cramps and sprains. Located in the main medical tent, ten members of TUSPM’s Sports Medicine Club became first responders when the explosions occurred at the finish line at this year’s marathon.
Helping to attend to those with serious injuries, our students responded effectively and professionally, a tribute to their training here at the School. Their presence and actions in Boston were noticed by the Philadelphia media.
