“Gather Around the Table” at Temple University Libraries this fall

Please join us this fall for the Libraries’ Beyond the Page public programming series. This year our series, Gather Around the Table, will frame critical conversations around the common theme of food. As always, additional programs will also encompasses a number of discussions designed to engage the outstanding work of our faculty and the strengths of our library.

Twilight Revelations: Episodes in the Life & Times of Emperor Haile Selassie—Screening and director’s talk with Yemane I. Demissie.
Demissie has received numerous awards for his work including the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. He also teaches in the Undergraduate Department of Film & Television at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. This program is cosponsored by the Department of African American Studies.

Temple Students Explore Urban Farms and Community Gardens: Moderated by Glenn Bergman of Weavers Way Co-Op.
Temple students Alex Epstein of Philly Urban Creators; Katy Ahmet with Temple Community Gardens; and students from the FarmLab architecture seminar will discuss their firsthand experiences with a variety of urban farming models. This discussion will be moderated by Glenn Bergman, the general manager of Weaver’s Way Co-op, a vital institution of community involvement in Northwest Philadelphia.

Join our first Chat in the Stacks of the year. Chat in the Stacks is an ongoing series of faculty conversations co-sponsored by the Faculty Senate Committee on the Status of Faculty of Color.
