Temple University Singing Owls, Temple’s Newest Choir

The Singing Owls is open to Temple students and alumni, Temple faculty and staff, and members of the community. Conducted by Rollo Dilworth, the ensemble's primary goal is appreciation and performance of music from diverse places, cultures and time periods.

No audition necessary!

Rehearsals begin on August 26 at Presser Hall on Main Campus and recur every Tuesday evening from 7:30–9:30 p.m. An optional half-hour skills session is held from 7–7:30 before every rehearsal beginning September 2.

The cost for non-credit members is only $25 per semester.

Homecoming 2014 | October 10–11, 2014

Toot your own horn and bang your own drum... Again! BYO instrument, borrow one of ours or simply cheer on your fellow classmates in this annual alumni gathering featuring practice with the current band, a big tailgate party and a halftime performance at the Homecoming football game. From individual lessons in orchestral instruments, piano, voice and guitar for children and adults to a wide range of music and dance classes, Temple Music Prep has it all: the wide range of classes include learning experiences designed to meet the music needs of children as young as infants, dance for children starting at age 3 and for today's busy adults there are group opportunities to learn how to sing, play the piano or guitar and much more. Creativity & Collaboration, Instrumental & Vocal Ensemble

Learn the fundamentals of improvising, arranging and ensemble playing in a comfortable, low-pressure group environment. This course provides formal music instruction through jazz and popular music. Although no audition is required, ensemble members need to be able to read music and use personally owned or rented instruments. Learn more and register.

Reducing Stress through Mindfulness and Song
Research has confirmed the psychological benefits of singing and mindfulness. Each class of this eight week program will include a short presentation on the dynamics of the stress reaction, guided meditation, group singing and discussion. By the end of this program, you will have gained valuable insight into how your mind works and you will walk away with powerful meditation techniques.
