We have exciting news to share! The College of Engineering will be featured at the Philadelphia Auto Show!
In September, we were approached by officials from the Auto Show who asked that our students create a Rube Goldberg device entirely out of auto parts that would be featured in an upcoming television commercial for the show. The Rube Goldberg is deliberately over-engineered to perform simple tasks in a complex manner. Its namesake, Rube Goldberg, was an American cartoonist and inventor.
The students received auto parts from local dealers in the tri-state area to build their Rube Goldberg, which you can see in the commercial for the Philadelphia Auto Show. Check out this behind the scenes video showing how the College of Engineering partnered with the auto show.
The College of Engineering will also have an area at the event to showcase some of our research and all the other great things we have to offer! This is the first time the Philadelphia Auto Show has partnered with a local university and we are beyond thrilled with how it has turned out. We will be located with the other sponsors on the 11th Street side of the Pennsylvania Convention Center near Exhibit Hall A from February 8th through February 16th.
