Important Change to Advertising Buying at Temple University

In an effort to expand Temple University's overall market presence and reduce costs across schools, colleges and units, Temple has negotiated a central contract for its media buying universitywide. Following a thorough RFP review, Temple University now has two agencies of record, Harmelin Media for traditional media buying, and Crossmedia for digital advertising. Temple's buying power is considerably enhanced by consolidating our efforts.

Your marketing and advertising funds remain your own. Our office will help individual units achieve their strategic goals while upholding Temple's brand consistency and integrity. To support this effort, Strategic Marketing & Communications is hiring a full-time advertising manager, who will be the universitywide point of contact for both Harmelin Media and Crossmedia. The advertising manager also will collaborate with communicators and marketers within the schools, colleges and units to plan your advertising, serve as the liaison with Harmelin and Crossmedia, aggressively pursue value-added opportunities, and provide reports and metrics on a regular basis.

Effective July 1, 2014, all media buying, advertising and sponsorship expenditures must be centrally channeled to those two agencies with the assistance of Strategic Marketing and Communications. If media is reserved/purchased by another entity (within Temple University, another agency or buying service) the purchaser will be responsible for paying commission to the university's agency of record in accordance with the terms of our contract.
