With strong roots in Philadelphia, Joe Bishop, FOX ’09, spent his fair share of time outside his hometown before landing back at his beloved Temple. Between his service in the United States Army, his current position as a senior financial analyst at Quintiq, Inc., and his role as husband and father, Joe still manages to find quality time to meaningfully engage volunteers at his alma mater.

Michele Masucci named vice president for research administration
Temple President Neil D. Theobald has appointed Michele Masucci to the new role of vice president for research administration.
Class Notes
James W. Ijames, TFM ’06, was one of 12 recipients of $75,000 Pew Center for Arts & Heritage 2015 fellowships for Philadelphia-area artists. Ijames is a playwright whose works investigate class, race and gender, and challenge the conventions of realism.

Patricia Hruby Powell, BYR ’87, published the children’s book Josephine: The Dazzling Life of Josephine Baker with Chronicle Books. It was recognized with a 2014 Boston Globe–Horn Book Nonfiction Honor, a 2014 BolognaRagazzi Nonfiction Honor, a 2015 Coretta Scott King Illustration Honor, a 2015 Robert F. Sibert Nonfiction Honor and a 2014 gold Parent’s Choice Award.

Timothy A. Reese, ENG ’87, ’90, was nominated by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf to be state treasurer. He is managing partner of Forge Intellectual Capital LLC and serves on the advisory board of the Securities and Exchange Commission. In 2012, he founded the National Minority Angel Network, an investment firm that aids woman-, veteran- and minority-led businesses.
