It means I am working hard with my colleagues to prepare students for internships and jobs and some of the most challenging times in our industry. It means I’m reaching out to media employers to create more career opportunities for our SMC Owls. It means I’m the head I Dare Me inspiration coach.
It also means I want to be connected to you—the lifeblood of this institution. I know you are proud of where you’ve been and what you’ve experienced personally and professionally since graduating from this school.
I know in the past, you may have asked if you could speak in a class or mentor or help that SMC student who reminds you of you and needs some professional guidance.
The answer today is a resounding yes. I need your help, and I want your help. I also want you to know that our new SMC career center is here for you too. We are small right now, but I promise we are going to grow.
In the meantime, I’m sending out a weekly newsletter to SMC alumni with current job postings. If you’d like to be included, please fill out this form. Feel free to email me if you would like to post a job or internship opportunity.
I think each of us knows how important it was to have someone who helped us take the next steps in our career or gave us encouragement. You may have already paid it forward many times over, or perhaps you’ve been waiting for someone to ask. I’m sincerely asking now to help make sure this next generation of SMC Owls fly.
I can’t wait to hear from you and meet you at future alumni events.
Cherry On!
