Dear ##First Name##,

What was at the intersection of Diamond and Carlisle when you were at Temple?

Today, there’s a beautiful vegetable garden, the Temple Community Garden, designed and run by students who want to give back to their community.
Temple Community Garden
Lush tomatoes, tall stalks of corn, graceful bean vines—this place is a vibrant corner of fresh air and thriving vegetation. And when the veggies are ripe, a portion of them ends up at the nearby Blaine Elementary School. And at the Penrose Recreational Center. And at Kairos House for Transitional Housing.

Children, teens and those trying to reclaim good and useful lives are provided with fresh, flavorful produce, at no cost and with no expectation of thanks. This makes me proud of our Temple students. I thought you’d like to know about the Temple Community Garden because I suspect you’ll recognize that take-charge attitude that Owls have had since your day and before.

That’s why I’m asking you to take charge by welcoming the Class of 2019 with a philanthropic contribution. Your support will show our incoming freshman how we, as a Temple community, give back. Please consider making a contribution today.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be emailing you some other reasons to be Temple proud—it’s certainly easy to find examples!

Enjoy your summer,
