Jane Scaccetti, FOX ’77, was appointed to the Penn National Gaming Inc. Board of Directors. She is founding partner and CEO of the Philadelphia-based accounting firm of Drucker & Scaccetti and has been a practicing CPA in Pennsylvania since 1977. Scaccetti also is a trustee at both Temple and Salus universities and board chair of Temple University Hospital.
Eric J. Owens, BYR ’93, returned to the Philadelphia stage in April to sing in Opera Philadelphia’s Don Carlo, staged at the Academy of Music. In March, he performed the title role in Washington National Opera’s The Flying Dutchman and was recognized with the Boyer College Tribute Award at Temple.
Silas Chamberlin, CLA ’06, was named the next executive director of the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area, which is developing the 130-mile Schuylkill River Trail to connect Pottsville to Philadelphia. He is a historian of hiking and trails and published the article “The Other End of the Tracks,” about grassroots opposition to rail trail development, in the September 2014 Landscape Architecture Magazine.
