The College of Science and Technology will host the 2015 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Physics awardees on April 22 as part of the symposium:

An initiative of The Franklin Institute, the Franklin Medal is one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in science. This year’s winners are Charles Kane, Eugene Mele, both of the University of Pennsylvania, and Shoucheng Zhang, Stanford University.

They and other esteemed scientists will present on topological insulators, a new class of materials that have a number of useful applications ranging from low power electronics to creating a topological quantum computer.
