Dr. Jack Wasserman will present at the Fifth Annual Distinguished Art History Alumni and Scholars Lecture B004 in the Tyler building.
Professor Emeritus in Art History at
Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Dr. Wasserman is an acclaimed
scholar in quattrocento and cinquecento Italian art, author of
major books, scores of articles, recipient of prestigious grants,
and is an elected Accademico Benemerito of the Accademia di
San Luca in Rome. His talk focuses on this major Pontormo
piece, paying particular attention to the complexities of its
iconography and how the medallion depicted in it relates to
Florentine politics and society at that time.
