Dear ##salutation_0518##,

I am something unusual in this nation: a woman in engineering. I’ve swum upstream most of my life—through grade school and high school, where girls weren’t supposed to excel at math and science. But at Temple, no one told me I couldn’t do it. I was welcomed. I finally found my home, in a community that values hard work and dedication.

So I’m emailing to ask you to make a donation to Temple University. Now is the perfect time, during the Alumni Gift Challenge, which will match your gift, dollar for dollar, and double the impact you have on current students—like me.

As part of Temple’s Society of Women Engineers, one of my projects is to talk to girls in Philadelphia-area grade and high schools and let them know that they, too, can consider a career in engineering, or any of the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
And it’s alumni giving that helps fund visits to Temple by Philadelphia schoolgirls to show them that opportunities are limited only by their drive and determination.

I want them to follow in my footsteps as I follow in yours. Please support your school and give to Temple right away.

Thank you,

Sibia Ranjbar

P.S.: The Alumni Gift Challenge will match your donation up to a maximum of $5,000 per donor. The challenge is worth $300,000 to Temple. Contributions made by June 30 will be matched—and only if the donation is received before the $200,000 limit is reached. I encourage you to donate today.
