Dear ##First Name##,

Yes, it does matter to me if you make an alumni gift to Temple University!

Your decision to contribute to Temple will make a difference to me and lots of other Temple students.

I’m in the Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry here at Temple, and I’ve twice led a team of dental students (plus dentists, college students, high school students, and more equipment than you can imagine) to Peru. We’ve gone to La Ventanilla, where we’ve spent time at the La Sagrada Familia orphanage, providing oral health education and dental care for children who would not get it otherwise.
In 2013, we implemented an oral health intervention, which includes dental screenings and tailored education for the children and training for the orphanage staff. The following year we provided a range of much-needed dental care for the children and staff. We found that the oral health status of the children was significantly better in 2014.

Through my dual degree in public health and dentistry at Temple University, I’ve earned the necessary skills to start this program from the ground up and design a tailored oral health plan for the children. Temple students are expected to be problem-solvers, determined and hardworking. We’re a Take Charge university, and I know that in many ways, that’s because the graduates who came before us left us this legacy and drive.

I’m raising money for the third trip to the orphanage this summer. Alumni giving to Temple will help me meet my goals—for the journey and for myself.

Please donate to Temple and give something back. I promise your donation will be put to very good use.

With my thanks,
Bari Levine, Class of 2016
