Owls on the Hill Advocacy Day |

We all have a Temple story. I was a transfer student from community college who earned a degree in political science, gained professional experience through internships and developed valuable skills through involvement in student organizations. It is now my job to advocate for Temple University, but it would be my privilege to help members of our student body tell their Temple stories in the State Capitol.
On Owls on the Hill day, Tuesday, April 14, Temple students are invited to Harrisburg to visit state legislators and show them just how much Temple affects not only Philadelphia but the entire Commonwealth and beyond.
We hope hundreds of Temple students flood the halls of the Capitol to tell their Temple stories. This online registration form makes it easy to reserve your spot for this important day of advocacy led by Temple Student Government. Transportation and lunch will be provided; prior to April 14, participants will attend an information session.
Owls on the Hill comes as state lawmakers discuss the governor’s budget proposal, which would increase Temple’s appropriation by $15.44 million, the first increase in four years. These funds—if approved by the General Assembly—will go directly to helping the university hold down tuition and recruit the best faculty.
If you are unable to attend Owls on the Hill day, you can contact your legislators and ask them to support Temple in the upcoming budget. Share why you chose Temple and why it is important for your legislator to support public higher education and Temple University. The Temple Advocates Legislative Outreach Network (TALON) makes it easy for you to find your legislators and their contact information.
As we celebrate Temple's status as a state-related university and share the value and benefits that Temple brings to the Commonwealth, feel free to forward this message to classmates, co-workers, alumni, friends and family and ask them to join you in contacting their legislators to share their Temple stories.
Thank you for taking time to support Temple.
