Celebrate Russell Conwell's birthday during the Temple Toast, Feb. 17.

As the 10th president of Temple University, I am honored to kick-off a 24-hour birthday party and online giving campaign to honor our founder and first president Russell Conwell's 172nd birthday.
As a distinguished member of our faculty and staff you support Temple every day by providing a high quality education to our students. Today, join together with alumni, students and friends across the globe to be one of 700 birthday donors for President Conwell's big day.
What will happen when you donate? The Temple University Board of Trustees will make the following contributions to Temple after each milestone:

$1,200 after the first 172 donors

$2,000 after 250 alumni donors

$1,000 after 100 faculty and staff donors

$1,000 after 100 parent donors

$5,000 after we hit the goal of 700 birthday donors for Russell Conwell
The excitement is mounting on campus and with Owls as far as Temple University Japan. Today you will see increased outreach via phone, e-mail and social media as well as pop-up birthday parties hosted by Temple University regional alumni chapters.
This event has been 172 years in the making and we want to power Temple to take charge today and into the future.
