Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine Building
Dear trustees,

This was a tremendous week for our Medical School, as we showed the world what an elite institution we are, and as we began a new chapter in our history.
Katz Naming Ceremony

On Tuesday, October 13, during a poignant ceremony attended by governors, senators, trustees, deans, medical school and health system leadership and more, Temple’s prestigious medical school was officially named in honor of late philanthropist and beloved Temple Trustee Lewis Katz, CST ’63.
The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University was formally dedicated, the new signs for the building went up, and a portrait of Lewis Katz was unveiled which will hang in the lobby in perpetuity.
Katz Naming Ceremony

The naming ceremony followed a number of other celebrations at our School, including a very well-attended medical alumni tailgate at Temple Homecoming and a day-long Open House and School of Medicine Showcase on Monday the 12th featuring our students, faculty and staff, as well as many visitors and alumni.
We were honored to have so many alumni and distinguished guests visit us for these ceremonies, and to shine a spotlight on the Temple medical alumni and community.
