+ College of Public Health Rolls Out New Ad Campaign
College of Public Health
This is an exciting time for the college! This fall, we added more programs (for a total of 51) and brought on 31 new faculty across the nine college units.

Yesterday, the College of Public Health debuted new advertising on SEPTA buses and bus shelters. The ads are our first venture into advertising, focusing specifically on the MPH program. A version of these ads will be exclusively on all buses at the American Public Health Association conference in Chicago, where more than 13,000 people are expected to attend.

If you see us on a bus, please take a photo and share it with us on Twitter @TempleCPH.

The College of Public Health’s 2015 Gallery of Success Awardees, Glenda Price, CPH ’61, and Brian Lindberg, SSW ’80, will open up about their experience at Temple and how it prepared them for personal and professional success.

The Accidental President: Recognizing Unexpected Leadership Opportunities Dr. Price will share her personal biography that includes her education at Temple and her pathway to leadership. Her message will revolve around how we all develop transferable skills and relationships as we gain knowledge from formal education and our various formal and informal roles and responsibilities. Others often recognize our leadership potential, and we should be ready to step out with opportunities and take command of such situations.

Glenda Price, CPH ’61
  • President of the Detroit Public School Foundation
  • Served as the interim president for the Michigan Colleges Foundation
  • Seventh president of Marygrove College, the first African-American woman to hold the position
Advocacy as a Lifelong Endeavor Mr. Lindberg will discuss how his social work training prepared him to go to Washington and work in health and aging policy, and how he works to inspire others to advocacy work. I believe his message will also suggest that while many of us train for clinical roles that advocacy is an important element of our professional and personal lives.

Brian Lindberg, SSW ’80
  • Executive director of the Consumer Coalition for Quality Health Care
  • An advocate for healthcare and aging policy on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
  • Former staff director of the House Select Committee on Aging's Subcommittee on Housing and Consumer Interests
