Pop-Up Garden in Doylestown

Students, Faculty Create Pop-Up Garden in Doylestown
A brand-new park recently popped up in Doylestown Borough right in the heart of town, thanks to a collaboration between Temple’s Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture and community volunteers. Park(ing) for People, a temporary 120-foot by 12-foot pop-up park, was part of Park(ing) Day, a global event designed to bring attention to the need for more urban open space, spark discussions about how public space is created and allocated, and improve the quality of the places in which we live and work. Rhapsody in Bloom
On Sept. 12, Temple University Ambler and the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University celebrated the campus and its gardens at the 10th annual Rhapsody in Bloom. The event highlighted the years of dedication that the Colibraro family—Joseph, Anthony and Michael—have provided to the arboretum and the Ambler Campus. The event, attended by 165 people, raised more than $30,000 for the Ambler Arboretum. A special thank you to the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators, our generous sponsors, guests and staff for making this year’s Rhapsody truly exceptional.

Learning Center in Bloom with a Bounty of Botanical Illustrations
Visit the third floor of the Ambler Campus Learning Center and you will find a treasure trove of original artwork presented by members of the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators. The 43 pieces presenting a full range of sizes and subjects will be on display through Sunday, Oct. 11. The goal of the exhibit is to provide a visual educational tool for students at Ambler Campus, presenting botanical illustration as both an art form and a potential career choice. Additional information, purchase inquires and note cards are available in the Ambler Campus Administration Building. A percentage of the proceeds from sales of the artwork will support the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University. For more information email llowe@temple.edu or call 267-468-8440.
