The Philadelphia Chapter of the Temple University Alumni Association invites you to mark Halloween with fellow Owls at this Philadelphia institution. The evening will include a cocktail reception with hors-d'oeuvres, an exclusive introduction into the Woodlands Cemetery, including current research Temple University graduate student Grace A. DiAgostino, CLA ‘14, ’16 is conducting at the facility, and optional tours of the grounds by Joana Arruda, CLA ’16. The event wouldn’t be complete without a Halloween costume contest so please come dressed to impress!

The Woodlands Cemetery, designated a National Historic Landmark District, is home to more than 30,000 “permanent residents.” Actively used today, the Woodlands Cemetery, its Hamilton Mansion, and 54-acre green space are an educational resource for scholars seeking further understanding of American architectural and botanical history, urban development, and the origin and growth of West Philadelphia. A pillar of the community, the Woodlands’ rich legacy offers a unique learning experience for Temple Owls!

A casual interactive panel discussion-based event about PrEp/Truvada, an pre-exposure prophylaxis used to prevent the spread of HIV.

The panel will include a multidisciplinary team of case workers, activists, providers and undergrad students discussing PrEp, debunk myths about PrEp, discuss barriers involving obtaining PrEp and the future of PrEp.
