As you know, Temple University Hospital has a tremendous impact on the surrounding community.
North Philadelphia has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the U.S. with many babies born into poverty and to young mothers who do not have adequate resources to care for them. As a way to assist these families, the hospital will soon begin providing training and “baby boxes” to all mothers who deliver at the hospital. The baby box serves as a crib and comes with the essentials – clothes, blankets, a thermometer and more.
