In his very first foundations class at Temple’s Tyler School of Art, senior Gaelen McCartney was tasked with designing and sewing a kite. After grappling with the concept in class, he returned to the studio later that day and worked for seven hours straight to finish his model. “I fell in love with sewing that day,” says the fibers and material studies major. He knew that he had found his home at Tyler.
