We’ve received incredible responses to the Baby Box Campaign supporting new mothers and their babies born at Temple University Hospital! We smashed our initial goal and have become the most successful project in OwlCrowd history!
Gifts are still coming in and for good reason – every additional $150 adds one more box that we are able to give away. And each box can make a lifesaving difference for a new baby!
North Philadelphia has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the U.S. with many babies born into poverty and to young mothers who do not have adequate resources to care for a newborn. As part of a broader educational campaign, these baby boxes serve as cribs and come with the essentials: clothes, blankets, smoke detectors, a thermometer and more.
Since the launch of the campaign on April 1, we have raised enough to provide education and baby boxes to 115 mothers and babies!
