Landscape architecture students win awards from the PA-DE Chapter of the ASLA
Several seniors studying landscape architecture received a Merit Award and a People’s Choice Award as part of the Student Awards Program of the Pennsylvania-Delaware Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) for their project, “Bartram’s Green.” The students on the project were Liam Cleary, Ethan Mintzer, Christian Molander, Brian Pannepacker, Gary Schneider and Sean Smith. Their advisor was Professor Lolly Tai. An official awards list will be posted soon on the chapter website.

at the AIA Convention 2016
Plastic
Several seniors in Tyler’s architecture program including Sean Moss, Kerry Hohenstein and Daniel Cruz placed second in the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) national plastics competition. The work was carried out as part of a capstone studio project led by Professor Brian Szymanik that focused on materials and making. Tyler’s Architecture Department was invited along with other architecture programs to participate in the competition. The students’ project along with other Tyler Architecture student work will be exhibited at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Convention 2016 in Philadelphia, May 19-21. Distinguished Alumni Mentoring program
On April 29, the Department of Planning and Community Development hosted a public lecture and workshop, “Placemaking – Revitalizing Commercial Corridors in Philadelphia.” Participants worked alongside community members in a neighborhood near Main Campus.
Fundy
Temple Contemporary is wrapping up the 2015/16 Distinguished Alumni Mentoring program with the exhibition of two works, “Breathing on Land: Bay of Fundy” by Hope Ginsburg, TYL ’96, and “Out to Lunch” by Misha Wyllie, TYL ’14. This exhibition is the result of work produced during a six-month mentorship between Ginsburg and Wyllie. The exhibition opened on May 4 and will continue until July 15.

ALUMNI SLIDESHOW: Send us images of your work! We will be composing a slideshow of alumni work to be seen at the reception. We’d like to share the level of accomplishment and impact of Temple University graduates as a group and as individuals.

We are looking for images and accompanying text that best show what each of you has been up to since graduation. This could be your most recent work or could illustrate a range. Content and composition is up to you as you see fit!

Some minimum guidelines:
  • A single PowerPoint slide (.ppt)
  • Image resolution of 200-00 dpi
  • May be single image or composite image
  • Primary title should appear as follows: Name, year of graduation, degree, current position
  • Descriptive text should include project/work title and alumni’s contributions
  • If work was done while employed at a firm, please credit the firm as well
