Tyler saluted the accomplishments of alumna Donna Corbin, TYL ’76, ’92, at our graduation ceremony. Professor Dan Cutrone made a beautiful glass vase for the Tribute Award that was inspired by a unique venetian technique called “zanfirico,” or twisty cane.
Donna's career at the Philadelphia Museum of Art has spanned more than three decades, having started as a volunteer in 1981 and shortly thereafter joining the permanent staff. She currently is the Louis C. Madeira IV Associate Curator in the Department of European Decorative Arts, a position she has held since 2004.
Her work at the museum includes curating a number of notable exhibitions, including the major touring exhibition, Louis I. Kahn: In the Realm of Architecture, in 1991 and A Purer Taste of Forms and Ornaments: Josiah Wedgwood and the Antique in 2009. |
