Farm to Families

Dear ##FIRST NAME##,

Down the street, Josie’s mom got home late from an overnight shift. She grabbed Josie and they flew off to school.

Josie didn’t eat. Nobody forgot. There was no food. It was month’s end and their food stamps ran out.

Josie got there, barely on time for a test. Her grade? Don’t ask.

Hungry children come to school every day in the neighborhoods around Temple. And unfortunately, even those children lucky enough to come from homes with food, eat all of the wrong things—high carbs, low veggies, and not enough protein. Why? There’s no close place to get fresh, nutrient-dense food at prices they can afford.

You and I know that good food = good grades. That’s why I’m asking you to give to the Farm to Families program, today.

Farm to Families brings low-cost, fresh produce to families in North Philadelphia. With a “prescription” from a Temple doctor or with food stamps, families can buy fresh, organic produce year-round at a reduced price. For just a bit more, they can get dairy and meat too.

  • $25 feeds a family for a week.
  • $125 feeds a family for a month.
  • $1,000 feeds a family for a year.

Make your gift today so that kids like Josie don’t go to school hungry and can get good grades.

Give by Thursday, December 15, and your gift will be doubled by a generous donor, adding up to a $25,000 nutritional boost to North Philadelphia families just in time for the holidays.

Sincerely,

Jamiliyah Foster
