Temple University
Lewis Katz School of Medicine
Jason Gonzales

Dear ##Salutation##,

As the son of Salvadoran immigrants, I’m fluent in Spanish and poverty.

My father, who now works as a construction worker, started college to be a physician, but left when civil war closed his school. To even give me a chance to go to college, my parents sacrificed so much. Yet for all their hard work, for all my preparation, for all my dreaming of helping people, and for as hard as it was even to get this far, I know there’s more to learn. That’s why I came to Temple.

Your leadership and support makes a difference for students like me.

Today, I stand in my white coat, with a Temple University stethoscope around my neck, prepared to enter my first year at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. When I serve in local clinics, I’ll be representing Temple, and you. Nothing could make me prouder.

Sincerely,

Jason Gonzales Signature
