The Student Center will be undergoing a significant renovation this summer to update the food court and main atrium.

Following is information on available services, hours of operation, facility access and additional project details.

The main entrance at 13th Street and Montgomery Avenue will close at 8 p.m. Friday, May 12, and will reopen in mid-August.

All access to the Student Center will occur through the Student Center South entrance on 13th Street (in the middle of the block on 13th Street between Cecil B. Moore and Montgomery Avenues).

The following partners will have adjusted schedules for the summer:

Bookstore – Open regular summer hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays) with the exception of June 2 through June 16, when the bookstore will be closed.

  • Textbooks/course materials will not be available in the main bookstore for the summer semesters.

  • All textbooks and course materials for summer semesters will be available at the Barnes & Noble on the corner of Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.

  • Online orders placed through the Temple bookstore website and designated for in-store pickup will also be available at the Broad Street store.


UPS Store – Open regular summer hours (9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday) with the exception of June 2 through June 16, when the UPS Store will be closed. Information on UPS store services and alternate locations is available online.

Philadelphia Federal Credit Union – Open normal hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday).

Graphics Media CenterOpen normal summer hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday).

Office of Sustainability and Blackstone LaunchPad – Open regular hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday) with limited closures, which will be posted.

The Student Center Information Desk is temporarily relocating to the south lobby just outside the game room starting Monday, May 15. Student Center staff will provide directions during the renovation. All lower-atrium offices and areas will be accessible via the Student Center South entrance.

The following areas of the Student Center will be inaccessible during the project:

  • Main entrance, main atrium, PNC ATMs, north staircase, atrium elevator

  • Food court level in its entirety

  • Second floor lounges overlooking the atrium

  • Second floor study lounge


All meeting and conference rooms, as well as administrative offices, will be available throughout the project.
