One of the biggest challenges we all face is getting our colleagues to act on the analysis we provide. That’s why I’m grateful people across Temple University increasingly rely on my team to help drive innovation in admissions, graduation and retention.
Though I know many IR offices produce reports regularly, I hope you find the information below—on how we’re aligning data with strategic initiatives—helpful as you advance the data dialogue on your campus.
Opening a new path to admission
Thanks in part to Temple Option, our diversity is soaring: This fall, the number of African American freshmen rose 20 percent, and Latino freshmen rose 26 percent.
Limiting student debt
Fly in 4 helps incoming students minimize their debt by ensuring they graduate in four years. Our current sophomores are the first class that had access to Fly in 4, and 600 more of them compared to last year’s sophomores are on track to graduate on time.
Retaining at-risk students
At Temple, we’ve raised our retention rate for first-year students to an all-time high of 90 percent. We’ve done that by hiring 60 full-time advisors since 2006, investing in their development, and equipping them with up-to-date tools and techniques.
Temple has a willingness to innovate and question practices. I’m proud of the role my team has played in advancing the university.

I’d welcome the opportunity to exchange ideas with you. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 215-204-7423 or jodi.levine@temple.edu.

Sincerely,
