To the Temple community:
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the death of Temple University’s eighth president, David Adamany, who passed away Thursday at the age of 80 after a short illness.
Those of you who worked with David undoubtedly remember him for his tireless devotion to the university. David demanded the best of everyone, especially himself. No one worked harder than David, and he was an uncompromising advocate for the university. As our board chair says in our announcement, David pushed Temple to be its best self and never forgot our mission of access, affordability, diversity and high quality.
We are currently working with the family on planning a memorial service on campus and will provide you with details as soon as they are available.
