Dear Trustees,
I’m writing to share with you our continued work of telling the Temple story and bringing increased recognition to our university locally, nationally and internationally.
Our surge in rankings suggests that people in this region and beyond have taken notice not only of the value of a Temple education, but also of the meaningful impact our alumni make in their communities and around the world. That momentum makes it the right time to expand our efforts to promote our university. As a leader in higher education that produces graduates who are exceptionally driven and real-world ready, Temple aims to inspire and transform the status quo.
This spring, we’ll take the next step in sharing Temple’s story. We laid the branding groundwork with Temple Made, which highlighted the attributes that make our students who they are: tenacious, driven, highly motivated and infused with Take-Charge spirit.
In a few days, we are launching Imagine Your World, a campaign that will make it clear that our 300,000 alumni and their impact are at the heart of our story. This campaign won’t only tout the Temple community’s successes, it will prove them. It will also demonstrate that these difference makers are powered by the education they received at Temple University.
Our new advertising—including digital, outdoor, radio and TV—features a diverse group of Owls behind some of the world’s most innovative ideas, intuitive ventures and meaningful solutions. They might not be household names, but their effects are felt far and wide, from the chemist whose contributions to pharmaceutical research resulted in a life-saving HIV drug to the entrepreneur who created jewelry that aims to decrease violence against women.
At the heart of the campaign are video vignettes, which tell the stories of alumni who personify the intrepid spirit that thrives at Temple. Each video centers on how their experiences here ignited their passions, how they cannot imagine their own worlds without their alma mater, and in the same way, how our larger world would be profoundly different without Temple’s impact. Additionally, on social media and in display advertising, we will highlight numbers and statistics that underscore the university’s worldwide impact.
We have a great deal to be proud of, and our community should be showcased through stories of incredible Owls making a difference. There are many life-changing innovations that exist because of Temple, and many have no idea Owls are behind such achievements. It’s time to change that.
