Nutshell | A newsletter for Temple students :-)
In a nutshell
Um, we don’t know if you guys heard? The pope is coming? To Philadelphia? Next weekend? (That would be Sept. 26–27.) And according to Mayor Nutshell—sorry, Mayor Michael Nutter—1.5 million people are expected to descend on Philadelphia for the occasion. It’s gonna be nuts. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a pope-themed Nutshell; you can thank us in your prayers.
Pope Francis

Find answers to frequently asked questions (well, maybe not exactly frequently asked), such as Will we have class on Friday, Sept. 25? (no) and Why is the pope coming, anyway? (to do pope things).

9 pope-related events the pope will not actually be attending (but you should!)
Attend a teach-in to learn more about the guy, a DIY hand sanitizer workshop to prepare for the germy masses, President Theobald’s special Saturday barbecue to snag some free food and more.

1 set of knees the pope will probably not be blessing
Your fellow Owl, Pratik Patel, Class of 2016, started a petition asking the pope to bless Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford’s knees; it blew up everywhere, basically, and more than 6,000 people have signed on. Bradford says that if the pope is in, he’s “all for it.” So what’s the holdup?

I don’t know, what do you wanna do?
Philabundance Gif
Your fellow Owls donating canned food; see how easy that is?
We wanna do good, and Philabundance is making it really easy during the month of September. Just drop off a nonperishable food item at one of several campus locations. Because more than 27 percent of your fellow Philadelphians live below the poverty line, including one in three children. Because no one should go to bed hungry. Because you’re Owls, and this is what you do: Take charge. Make a difference. Help your neighbors in need.
We’ll email you every Monday morning; you can contact us whenever you want. We’d love to hear your feedback and story ideas, or anything else you think we should know.
