The big day

Guys, do you know what today is? Yes, it’s Monday and, yes, it’s Lumberjack Day and, yes, we’re wondering what the heck Lumberjack Day is. Anyway, today is *also* the day before the start of Career Week! And since it’s important, it actually spans two weeks. There will be events to help perfect your résumé, learn proper dining etiquette and figure out lumberjack stuff (don’t hold us to that last one) all in time for the big day—which is Oct. 5, when the University-Wide Job and Internship Fair will bring nearly 100 employers to campus. Get your flannel shirts suits ready.

Spread the word

We spread, we bagged, we conquered. Yup, last week’s PB&J Day yielded 49,000+ sandwiches for area shelters and food banks—and also earned Temple a record for most PB&Js made in an hour! A Guinness World Record, to be exact. We like how that sounds. Thousands like how it tasted. And you’ll like how it looks. Watch the video.

I don’t know, what do you wanna do?

We wanna spray our hair and then get tickets to see Temple Theaters’ Hairspray. The musical, set in 1960s Baltimore, includes lots of dancing and towering hairdos. And it’s not all fun and aerosol cans: The play also addresses civil rights and social issues. Tickets are now available online, by phone and in person.

Oct. 12–23, various times, Tomlinson Theater, $10 student tickets with TUid
