Red food truck
The truck stops here
The food truck, that is. Campus is rolling a gazillion deep with food trucks serving up everything from crepes to bi bim bap to cookies stuffed with peanut butter cups. (One gazillion is not the official number, by the way—we’re more into eating than counting around here.) Anyway, in this new recurring Nutshell feature, we review a Temple food truck and answer your most pressing culinary questions. For example, what can I eat if I’ve only got $6? Class starts in 10 minutes; how long is this going to take? IS THE FOOD ANY GOOD? In honor of World Vegan Month (yes, Thanksgiving occurs during World Vegan Month), we sampled the plant-based fare at the Vegan Tree. Read on to eat well, Owls.

#cantstopwontstop
Guess who’s not going to be flying the nest for fall break? That would be the Temple football and basketball teams, who will be playing home games this weekend and next (and hopefully eating some of Grandma’s famous sweet potato pie in between). Lucky for all you dorm dwellers, Temple housing won’t close till 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, so you can stay for the Temple vs. Memphis football game that day. And dorms will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. so you can make it to that day’s football game versus UConn, as well as the men’s basketball home opener against Delaware on Sunday, Nov. 29. Free tickets to the games are available to all students. Pass the pie, please.
Meditating over weights.
I don’t know, what do you wanna do?
It’s not so much what we wanna do but everything we have to get done before break and the end of classes and then finals and the holidays and and and...exhale. Inhale. Exhale. There you go, deep breaths. Now walk on over to Temple Contemporary for the 11:00 free Meditative Movement and Relaxation class. It occurs every Monday and will come in real handy as crunch time closes in. If meditative movement isn’t your cup of tea (or if your cup of tea is actually an energy drink), take a break from the grind by pumping some iron at the Bench Press Contest this Thursday at Ambler Campus. We hear there might be prizes.
We’ll email you every Monday morning; you can contact us whenever you want. We’d love to hear your feedback and story ideas, or anything else you think we should know.
