Former Eagles coach Dick Vermeil and public service champion Estelle Richman to receive honorary degrees
Now we really know what ‘birds of a feather flock together’ means. Eagles and Owls will unite as Dick Vermeil speaks and receives an honorary degree at the 130th Commencement ceremony next month. Estelle Richman, former secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, will also receive the prestigious honor at the May 11 celebration.

Making the news
A new journalism class, Philadelphia Neighborhoods on TV, allows students to report, write, shoot and edit newscasts that air on TUTV. The show focuses on in-depth stories from all corners of the city. Tune in for their next broadcast April 19 at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., and again at 4 a.m. on April 20.

The ABCs of social justice
A Tyler School of Art class was challenged to create social justice-themed posters for each letter of the alphabet. The powerful pieces are now on display at Temple’s Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL).
