Recent graduate makes history as first Rhodes Scholar
Hazim Hardeman, KLN ’17, is among 32 Rhodes Scholars selected from a pool of more than 850 applicants for the prestigious honor, which will allow him to pursue a master’s degree at Oxford University. A former Honors student who grew up just a few blocks from Main Campus, Hardeman embodies the Temple spirit and story. Hardeman’s achievement earned recognition in national and regional media outlets, including on the front page of Monday’s Philadelphia Inquirer. This historic moment for Temple comes at a time when President Richard M. Englert has been emphasizing the university’s academic rigor and community engagement.
