 THE FEED
Temple faculty, staff and students make headlines every day. Read a sampling of Temple's recent media hits.

From National Public Radio’s “Here and Now”:
Many people — including perhaps President Obama — seem to have a type of personality that allows them to thrive during tough times. Temple psychologist Frank Farley joined host Robin Young to discuss "Type T" or thrill-seeking personalities. Farley says people who are T-types view the current economic situation as an opportunity to grow and take chances, while others view it as the end of the world. More.

From CBS3:
A recent study found that whether it’s a no-fat or no-carb diet, weight loss really depends on the amount of calories you eat. "Whether it be from cutting back on your carbs, cutting back on your fat, cutting back on your protein, cutting calories overall is what results in a weight loss," said Becky Dilks, a registered dietician at Temple's Center for Obesity Research and Education. More.

From Los Angeles Times:
Mental health experts are split on whether dissociative identity disorder is real. Now that Showtime’s "United States of Tara" features a woman with the disorder, there is growing debate whether the show’s creators are portraying the disorder accurately. Richard Kluft, professor of clinical psychiatry at Temple's School of Medicine, has been hired as a psychiatric consultant to ensure the drama is as authentic as it can be. More.
