Temple University

Important instructions for the new TUmail powered by Google.

As you may know, the university is upgrading its e-mail system to TUmail powered by Google on March 1. As a current TUmail user, you do not need to take any action to receive this e-mail enhancement. However, you may need to take a few easy steps to activate some of the features of your new account.

Your e-mail address, username and password and web access will NOT change.

After March 1, visit tumail.temple.edu and use these instructions to configure your account:

Access your old e-mail:

  • During the short-term migration period, your old e-mail may not appear in your inbox.
  • To access your old e-mail during this time, log in through tumail.temple.edu/archive.
  • All of your messages should appear in your new TUmail powered by Google account no later than March 4.
  • Please note: Messages larger than 5 MB will not be migrated. For more detailed instructions on retrieving these messages, click here.

Reconfigure e-mail forwarding:

  • If you currently use e-mail forwarding, you must access your new TUmail powered by Google and reactivate this feature.
  • Please note: You must wait until after you receive the e-mail stating that your account has been migrated to set up forwarding.
  • To reconfigure e-mail forwarding, sign in to your TUmail powered by Google account and click on “Settings” and then “Forwarding and POP/IMAP.”
  • For more detailed instructions, click here.

Please be advised that events currently on your TUmail calendar will not be migrated.
