Join the Temple Therapeutic Recreation Department and fellow therapeutic recreation alumni at the
Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival
Saturday, Oct. 3
Anytime between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
Kelly Drive, tent position 149 and 150
Philadelphia, PA
(Visit www.philadragonboatfestival.com for details and directions to the site.)
Therapeutic Recreation Department faculty and alumni have entered a boat in the festival for the second year and will be paddling in memory of John Noisette, a former TR professor and the man behind the Rollin' Owls, Temple’s wheelchair basketball team.
Join Temple’s TR alumni crew – the Paddlin’ Owls – in promoting fun and recreation for all. The festival is free of charge and lasts all day, with three races in assorted divisions. Enjoy a lovely fall day socializing, eating, and cheering the Temple TR crew to victory.
Look for the Temple TR team at tent position 149 and 150 near the finish line below St. Joseph's Boathouse along Kelly Drive.
If you can’t join the fun, but would like to make a contribution to the TR Development Fund for student awards, contact Sean Marsh at sean.marsh@temple.edu. All paddling members of the Temple TR alumni crew have contributed $100 toward the festival costs. Any proceeds support the development of the John Noisette memorial departmental award.
For more information about the event, contact Kathy Coyle, the TR Undergraduate Coordinator at ccoyle@temple.edu.
