About the Simeone Foundation Museum
The October 2008 opening of the Simeone Foundation Museum in Philadelphia premiered for the public the priceless, unequaled automobile collection of noted neurosurgeon Dr. Frederick A. Simeone, MED ’60. One need not be a racing car enthusiast to appreciate the beauty of the museum’s striking exhibits. Simeone has always believed that cars are a form of art, and his collection illustrates important lessons about human creativity, the expression of the aesthetic impulse and the achievement of artistic beauty and perfection through magnificent specimens of "rolling sculpture."

The overarching theme of the collection is the spirit of competition, and the astonishing benefits in style, engineering and safety that often result. The museum’s motto is: The first race was conceived when the second car was built. There are few illustrations of the effects of competition as dramatic and beautiful as the evolution of the racing sports car.
