Temple University Alumni Association
Alumni Weekend

During Alumni Weekend 2010, held April 9 through 11, join fellow College of Liberal Arts alumni for the following events:

Purposeful Play: Preparing Children for a Global World
Saturday, April 10, 10:00-11:00 AM
Anderson Hall, Room 7, 1114 Polett Walk (formerly Berks Street)

The 21st century demands different skill sets than were required of the Industrial Age or even the Information Age -- skill sets that are born in the sandbox and prepare us for the board room. Temple developmental psychologist Kathy Hirsh-Pasek demonstrates the need to bring play and playful learning back into our homes and our classrooms so that our children are prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow. A light breakfast will be served.

The Science of Adolescent Brain Development
Saturday, April 10, 11:00 AM-Noon
Anderson Hall, Room 7, 1114 Polett Walk (formerly Berks Street)

Developmental psychologist Laurence D. Steinberg, the world's leading expert on adolescent development and the author of the popular book You and Your Adolescent, explains what neuroscientists are learning about the adolescent brain, and how parents and educators can benefit from this knowledge.
