Dear graduate,

I am writing on behalf of the Dance Production Committee to invite you to submit a proposal for the 12th annual Alumni Dance Concert that will take place on Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011. The Alumni Dance Concert plays an essential role in maintaining contact with the graduates of the Dance Department here at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance. In addition, it gives current students a chance to talk with working choreographers and performers about the challenges they faced following graduation, and provides a professional venue in which you, our alumni, can have your work produced. Finally, we have been impressed with both the quality and diversity of the work in the past alumni concerts, and we wish to continue producing high-caliber concerts featuring our alumni.

We want to present a concert that equitably highlights the work of our alumni so we have decided to adjudicate the selection process. Some work would be more suitable for a solo concert, while other works could share a showcase concert nicely. We will not accept any proposals from alumni who have graduated in the past two years or who were presented by us in the past two years.

To help the jury make selections, please submit:

1) A one-page proposal for the work

2) Videotaped material indicating work you have already done on the piece, or other pieces that represent your work (Please submit the DVD with self-adressed, stamped envelope if you want it back.)

3) A short cover letter letting us know what your artistic life is like now, what your concerns and goals are with the piece in question, and what format you think would be the best for a concert that would include your work

4) A one-page resume
