School of Communications and Theater

Dear graduate:

It has been seven years since the School of Communications and Theater established the Advertising Department, and in that time the program has grown to more than 400 undergraduate ad majors. Along with the department's growth, our student-run ad club, Temple Advertising Club (TAC), also has grown to be the fifth largest student-based American Advertising Federation (AAF) chapter in the country with more than 100 members!

TAC has become a valuable asset within the department, by providing members with opportunities to network with professionals through panel discussions, guest speakers and agency tours. Often, our reach extends beyond the walls of Annenberg Hall, as we lend our advertising services and expertise to other student organizations from across the university.

Share your experiences
Alumni participation is key to TAC's growth and continued success. We invite you to share you experience and expertise in the communications industry with our students. Each semester we invite representatives of local and national companies to share their experiences with our members at our general meetings. I invite you to come speak to our members during the fall 2011 semester about your experiences. Our weekly meetings generally last about an hour and we encourage our members to network with speakers after the meeting. We're curious about the current trends in communications and advertising and would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer us.

If you are interested in sharing your experiences with our members, please contact us at tac@temple.edu.

Stay connected
To help facilitate connections between our members, Temple advertising alumni and other advertising professionals, we've created a presence on a number of social media sites. You can find us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/templeadclub), Twitter (twitter.com/TempleAdClub) and LinkedIn. You also can check out our blog at www.templeadlib.com to see what our talented students are working on.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Michelle Dunst
Vice President, Temple Ad Club
